sales 2.0
The San Francisco Sales 2.0 conference on sales and Web 2.0 in October highlighted the large range of technologies and techniques entering the market to increase the volume and velocity of sales. I have to agree with Keith Rosen, however, that, the purpose of "sales 2.0" is to make the process more efficient for everyone (especially our customers) - not to replace the function of a sales person in understanding needs, identifying and communicating where and how solutions best fit. We find at Ezidocs, when B2B sales people experience how much easier we make their lives - they become very good at identifying even more ways we can automate. But the great thing is, these are always "back-office" functions that free up their time to engage better with customers. Business is done between people in the end.
