The prize in enterprise software is a stable and efficient framework within which people can add the human intelligence they are gifted with. Enterprise software should minimise or eliminate process repetition but leave space for people to exercise choice, add personal nuance or to manage unique circumstance. To achieve this zen balance, however, requires careful tailored setup as well as adaptable systems. Where enterprise solutions play a significant role in an organisation they will always require close tailoring to accommodate the unique complexuality that gives an enterprise its advantage.  Business administration will never be fully robotic because it is dealing with people - and thankfully this means we will always have enough unpredictability and randomness to keep it interesting and new.
