8 predictionsTight times are good times for innovation that improves enterprise productivity, risk, and customer service. 2009 promises to see accelerated development of strategic business enablers based on network technologies. Dion Hinchcliffe's annual predictions suggest, amongst other things, that smaller web 2.0 organisations may be the catalyst to enable better alignment of IT with business (and customer) goals; addressing long-standing business problems with clever new 2.0 approaches.  Changes will not be fast, however, because of the inertia that exists within organisations in structure, strategy and culture and, of course, we don't yet have all the answers (e.g. in standards and formats) so there is still plenty of pioneering on this front. The trick is to be open to it. Mike Gotta has some tips for planning in this respect.
